Conscious Choice is Simply a Choice to Choose Consciously
You are always choosing in every moment. You are choosing right now. It doesn’t always feel like it but you are. The truth is, just because we don’t always consciously choose, we are still choosing. Choice is the power of all possibilities in life made available. It is how we create. Our reality is created by a series of micro-choices throughout our entire life. We have just forgotten that we are the chooser and that to choose is to create.
You are a powerful creator! Whether you create consciously (with awareness and intention) or not, you are still creating through your choices. You are no less powerful just because you are choosing to use that power against yourself by not using it consciously.
To step fully into your ability to create your life with your power to choose, you must take personal responsibility for all of your choices in your life. To blame circumstances or other people is to give them the power over your life and to surrender your own creation power of choosing for yourself. Sometimes we do this because to be a creator who is fully in charge of one's own life is challenging. But with everything that is challenging the reward is great!
We often use procrastination as another way of attempting to not choose or to defer choosing. It is a lie we tell ourselves so well that we are fooled. Procrastination is simply choosing to not do something or to delay it until it becomes important enough for us to choose it now. It’s similar to blaming in that these are two ways we surrender our power by playing games with ourselves as if we are not the creator of our life though our choices.
Taking total personal responsibility for how you feel and how you choose to respond in any situation is your sovereign creation power. Personal responsibility is taking total ownership of your life. Therein lies the true sovereign's power.
So, knowing this, we should seek to choose consciously so we can create our life as we desire. Becoming intentional with your choices of behaviours is key. That is what consciously choosing is; setting intentions and taking personal responsibility for desired actions toward outcomes. Living a life of meaning is; living with intention, choosing consciously and creating disciplined daily practices to habituate what you want to create. If every choice you make creates your future and opens up new possibilities, it then serves us to habituate some conscious and intentional choices so that they are easy and automatic.
Intentional living creates a meaningful life yet we are a society plagued by “intention deficit disorder”. Getting into the habit of setting intentions everyday upon waking cures us of this.
