The Other LOA That is Even MORE POWerful!!
I'm going to let you in on a little known secret. Several years ago when the blockbuster movie "The Secret" came out and re-introduced the world to the ancient law of attraction, a lesser known law was all but passed over and forgotten even though it is just as powerful, if not more so, than the law of attraction (LOA).
This law is called the LAW of ASSUMPTION as coined by a 20th century mystic named Neville Goddard.
This Law is based on the idea that our own human imagination is actually divine and the seed from which germinates the life of everything that was created by humans. After all, isn't imagination how the creation process originates? Nothing we see here before us exists without once having been the a thought form in the imagination of the mind of a human being just like you or I.
It got me to thinking of all the wise masters and teachers across time who share the common lesson of the power of imagination and desire; the sense that initiates our imagination...
"The Universe began, not with light, but with desire, 'the primal seed and germ of Spirit'" ~The Rig Veda
"All teachings are preceeded by imagination" ~Buddha
"We are the imagination of ourselves" ~Bill Hicks
"As a man thinketh in his heart so is he" ~Proverbs 7:23
"A true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination" ~Einstein
Even if you dissect the word "imagination" you find the root word of "magic" within it.
~EYE-MAGI-nation~ (I wasn't joking about loving etymology!!)
In essence it's saying, "I magically create my nation/station/situation with my own imagination" ✨
The gifts of the "Magi" or wise men, the "Magistrates"- highest ranking officers, from "majestic" and "magisterial" to describe the highest and most masterful, the "Magician"... all consciously harnessing the creation power of their own human imagination! "Magi" means mastery and Imagination is self-mastery!
Everything that was ever created was once a seed in the imagination.
Have you stopped to observe how you are using or misusing your imagination? How much time have we wasted in worry, using our powerful imagination against ourselves and calling it "taking care" and "prudence"? Are you planting those seeds on fertile soil and nurturing their germination or choking them out?
In a cocoon a moth will liquefy into goo called "imaginal cells" before reconstructing from this goo into a butterfly. We are always becoming our imaginal cells/self of our own (re)creation power! It's time to imagine again like you did as a child what you crave for this one glorious life and become the imagination of yourself. You are worthy of Magic! YOU ARE WORTHY OF WHAT YOU CAN IMAGINE!! I AM Worthy of "EYE MAGI NATION"!!
BUT, there is one force that can hijack our divine IMAGINATION and that is fear. Fear creates doubt and once we doubt ourselves we misuse our imagination against ourselves and begin to create what we don't truly desire.
Some questions to ask yourself:
Where is fear usurping the power of your imagination? What do you spend your precious energy worrying about? Where do you need to surrender to trust and believe that you can imagine a better outcome? What do you truly desire that is on the other side of fear? How are you misusing your imagination force? What illusion are you holding in place by the very act of fighting against it?
WORRY IS A MISUSE of IMAGINATION. It is like betting against yourself.
"Every aspect of living follows this principle.
If you desire health in a spirit of fearing sickness, you prevent health.
If you fear the aging process, you prevent eternal youth.
If you fear poverty, you prevent abundance.
If you fear loneliness, you prevent real companionship.
If you fear companionship, you prevent self-containment.
So it goes on and on…” ~Eva Pierrakos
To be clear, instincts and intuition are not the same as fear. These are tools that point our way when we listen to them. They are guiding sensations that signal alignment and misalignment but they are not fear. Fear is destructive while intuition and instincts are whispers of the divine that keep us in discernment and deep bodily wisdom. Fear, over a lifetime, disconnects our body from these delicate guiding sensations so that all we believe is fear being real and even necessary. It is not. That's why it says in every major spiritual tradition to not fear. In fact, it says "fear not" or a derivative of that statement 365 times in the Bible.
"God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of a sound mind" ~2 Timothy 1:7
“Fear is hidden consent. When you are afraid of something, it means that you admit it’s possibility and thus strengthen its hand. It can be said that it is a subconscious consent.” ~ The Mother (Mira Alfassa)
As it turns out, an estimated 90% of what we fear never really happens anyway so it really was all in our heads and a misuse of our imagination.
Fear of living one’s life, fear of being outcast or ridiculed, fear of not being loved.... It is this fear which stops us from learning, living and loving. Fear is the great inhibitor; it halts the process of evolution. It blocks the essence of life itself. It is the Great Depression in spiritual form.
When you are afraid, you slowly and surely stop living. Fear is the slow death. It’s the real disease of a thousand faces.
We can be increasingly in control of our perceptions and our actions through practice and conscious awareness. Most fear exist only inside our minds.
When we continually face our fears we begin to see them for the illusions they are. We realize we didn’t die and more importantly, on the other side of that fear is true freedom- freedom from that which we fear!!
Challenge your fears and set yourself free.
Every belief we have about ourselves provides a never ending source of convincing evidence to reinforce our belief. It's called "belief bias". In CRAVE we are asked to question that "evidence" and start challenging our out-dated beliefs. Once this barrier is down we have a blank slate to begin creating our life from our divine imagination and not our past history or our learned fear-programming.
And, as the Law of Assumption dictates, "imaginative assumption" triggers an alignment between inner and outer worlds invariably leading to the manifestation of these desires. "Imaginative assumption" then, is the definition of trust and faith in a Higher Power that desires exactly what we desire for us. Could you be so humble to believe that you could be loved this much? That we can trust in our utmost wildest imaginative desires for our life is also the desire of Creator to live though us...and even to delight in us in this way? What if all it takes is to believe that your divine imagination is God whispering for you to GO FOR IT!!!
So what does this Law of Assumption mean?
"Dare to assume you are what you want to be and you will compel everyone and everything to play their part." ~Neville Goddard
The reason is that nothing exists outside of your own consciousness, and your entire experience of the world is a symbolic representation of where your consciousness currently stands.
To change anything in your life, you have to change the beliefs and assumptions you hold about it.
Furthermore, everything that you experience is a result of your changing consciousness, so Goddard teaches that changing your assumptions, and assuming the presence of your desire, is the only thing that will bring about your aim. Action is irrelevant, since action itself is a symbol of your state of mind. Your shift in consciousness is the only thing that matters. All else follows.
You must assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled until your assumption has all the sensory vividness of reality. You must imagine that you are already experiencing what you desire. That is, you must assume the feeling of the fulfillment of your desire until you are possessed by it and this feeling crowds all other ideas out of your consciousness.
How do we practice this law?
Imagination (vivid with passionate feeling) + persistence = wishes fulfilled!!
YOUR IMAGINATION is the God spark of creation within you! What you imagine and feel as if it is your reality and persist in this reality will inevitably create this in the real world. The stronger the vision and the more persistent you remain with it will bring it to being quicker.
How Do You Put The Law To Work In Your Life?
Now that you have a basic understanding of what The Law of Assumption is, you can start putting this powerful, inner-law to work for you in your life.
To begin, I recommend you start to “practice” using this law with something that feels like a small, or realistic goal. Even better if you can think of a goal that you have that would be nice to achieve, but is not really that important to you.
The reason for this is that often, when we’re first starting out working with this law, we wind up focusing too intently on the desire we want to achieve. In the process, we inadvertently end up focusing on the absence of the desire.
That is: we think about our goal, but we keep feeling the absence of the goal.
When we do this, we are not actually practising The Law of Assumption.
As you get better at vividly imagining your desires as if they have been fulfilled, you will find it easier to manifest your desires.
In the next Module we will look closely at the tools of visualization and visioning to help with this.
