Personal Values Discovery
QUEST-ions To Discover Your Core Values
(write your answers in your journal)
Describe times when have you felt happy, fulfilled, proud and full of purpose? Be specific about why.
When have you felt frustrated, unfulfilled, empty or annoyed? Why?
What activities make time fly by and make you feel like you’re in the “flow” of life?
Who are your role models? What are the qualities they possess that you admire?
What are your natural gifts and abilities that you or others appreciate about you? When do people turn to you for help?
Read through this list quickly at first and check any and all values that immediately resonate with you. Once you feel like you have captured all the values that are meaningful, look at each one you’ve identified and ask yourself these questions:
How was I taught the importance of this value? (Experience, cultural influence, family, etc.) What feelings come up for me when I think about this value? Is this value really MINE? Hint: if you think it is something you “should” embody it might be a core belief or a ego self-concept rather than your authentic core value.
Then, narrow your list to your top 5 and rank them in order of importance.

Personal INTEGRITY QUESTIONS to ask yourself:
Do I embody this value in my life right now? If so, how? If not, why not?
Can you identify this value translating into actions and behaviours in your life currently or previously? Where have you or are you acting on this value?
If not, what do you think is preventing you from embodying this value (this could be because of a core limiting belief, internal program or an external force preventing it).

What actions can you use to live your five most important values in the present? Translate your abstract values into concrete activities, i.e. if your value is ‘generosity’ an action could be to choose a charity and donate a percentage of time or money monthly. Do this for all of your top 5 values until all the actions/disciplines you can think of are written down. Then pick the one that you will start with today to live in greater integrity and purpose. These will enrich your life immensely!!
